Rockcloud silk filled duvets have a five year warranty, from the manufacturer at the date of purchase, against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or product abuse by the consumer.
The warranty is void unless these care instructions are followed.
- Always protect your duvet with a removable washable cover.
- The duvet must NOT be machine washed, hand washed in its entirety, wrung, tumble dried or dry cleaned.
- Use the traditional method of cleaning, which is to air the duvets in the warm fresh air for 20-40 minutes a few times a year. This has the effect of cleaning and purifying the silk floss, and under normal circumstances no other cleaning will ever be required.

If a small spillage should occur, we recommend filling a basin with cool water and adding a small amount of gentle non-biological soap for delicates e.g. silks, woollens. Immerse only the stained part of the duvet and gently swirl around until the stain has gone. Remove from the basin and repeat the process with clean cool water to rinse thoroughly. Place the wet area between two thick clean towels to absorb excess moisture. Dry flat in a warm place and make sure it is completely dry.
If in exceptional circumstances the duvet requires complete cleaning, you may consider having it cleaned by a professional cleaner but we do NOT accept responsibility for any deterioration or loss of natural properties. We recommend that total cleaning of a silk filled duvet is only used as a last resort and that wherever possible it is avoided. Please read our notes below.

Professional dry cleaning is suggested only as a last resort because it is now generally accepted that silk should not be cleaned with any form of chemicals, as the chemicals may cause some hardening of the silk, thus reducing its softness. Although dry cleaning fluids evaporate readily at low temperatures, it is impossible to ensure that traces of cleaning chemicals do not remain on the cleaned article, even after thorough airing.

Professional wet cleaning is becoming more common, and there are increasing numbers of machines designed for this purpose being installed at cleaners in the UK and Europe. This process may be suitable providing the correct settings and drying procedures are used.
